creating long lasting stories and memories

why us?

We are a Collective of Family First Wedding Enthusiasts dedicated to seeing good marriages become great marriages by starting them off well. We pride ourselves on being humble and always the first to help out where needed. We love journeying with you to create a simple, unique and entertaining wedding experience tailored uniquely to you!

Let’s clear this up from the start, Barefoot doesn’t literally mean walking around in bare feet. We promise we will wear shoes to your ceremony. We loosely relate it back to a more simplistic time where there is a simplicity in being barefoot. Children love running around barefoot because life is simple for them. It’s easier to not put shoes on in the morning… We take this simplistic approach to how we journey with you from the booking to the ceremony (and beyond) and we take pride in how we tailor a simple and unique ceremony just for you!

We believe in providing a space for you to ‘Stress More’ about your marriage by stressing less about your wedding day. We want to make it as simple (barefoot) as possible as we journey with you to create long lasting stories and memories.

We’ll shout the brew, you tell us your story!

We make it simple for you to book a meeting in with one of our team members. When you make an enquiry we send you all the information you need by text and email. We can meet in any way that suits your busy schedule - Face to Face catch up, Online Hang Out (via Zoom), Phone Chat.

We will do all the heavy lifting and organise the essentials to make this meeting work including shouting the brew if we catch up Face to Face (unfortunately we can’t shout a virtual brew sorry, but we’ll have a laugh regardless).

FYI - We also offer Unlimited Correspondence via text and email to give you peace of mind. For any Face to Face, Online (Zoom) and Phone Calls we ask that you book a meeting in with us via the Book a Meeting button at the bottom of this page.

Legal documents are confusing. Lucky we’ve filled tonnes of them in!

We don’t leave the legal paperwork that you have never seen up to you to just do. We’ve filled in tonnes of these forms (NOIM) so we know the in’s and out’s.

P.S. - We actually complete the paperwork for you and send it back for approval with guided instructions on what you need to do next.

P.P.S. - We also take care of all the legal aspects following your wedding as well so you don’t have to deal with the government departments. We take care of it all on your behalf.

When the dust finally settles from the single best moment of your lives, we will sort out the certificates for you!

On the day of your wedding ceremony, you, your witnesses and the Celebrant will sign a bunch of papers. When the dust finally settles from the single best moment of your lives, we will leave one of the certificates (in an envelope) with the person you nominated during the myLaneway Planning stage and we will organise for the Official Wedding Certificate to be mailed to you along with officially registering your marriage with the other documents that you signed. We know it’s a little confusing so below is a brief outline of the certificates that we take care of for you and on your behalf so that you can simply sit back and enjoy being married:

  • Ceremonial Marriage Certificate: This certificate is simply a nice keepsake for you to hold on to, you can’t really do much with this certificate other than frame it and hang it on the wall. It is a requirement that you sign this certificate on the day of the ceremony so we will sort this out then leave the certificate in the capable hands of the person you nominate following the ceremony.

  • Official Certificates of Marriage: You actually sign two of these on the day of your wedding ceremony. Within the first week of your wedding ceremony, we will send the documents off to the relevant governing body to officially register your marriage. BTW - you don’t keep either of these certificates, the celebrant takes both.

  • Official Marriage Certificate: This is the official certificate that is used to change legalities like names, bank accounts etc. There is an application process required for this after your marriage has been officially registered. We also take care of lodging this paperwork on your behalf immediately following your ceremony. Once lodged, you will be sent a payment notification email by the registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages to pay the relevant fees, then within a matter of weeks, the certificate will be posted to you, generally any point in the first month following your wedding ceremony.

It’s a no brainer that this is a part of the package but we like to give a brief indication as to what really is included with the ceremony on the day:

  • Planning: As indicate in the top three inclusions, we will journey and work with you during the planning stages to finalise Legals, Get to know you better to personalise a message to you, send you hints and prompts regarding vows etc and plan out your ceremony to a T.

  • Set Up/Check In: Your Celebrant will arrive no later than one hour prior to your ceremony to ensure everything is set up and ready. They will check in with all parties and vendors who are onsite and ensure timing is spot on.

  • Equipment: Your Celebrant will come with these inclusions - signing booklets with all legal documents and certificates, message notes (generally on an iPad - we love technology) and wireless PA system.

  • Guests: Your Celebrant will mix and mingle with your guests prior to the ceremony to ensure everyone is happy and comfortable. They will offer help and assistance where needed.

  • Vendors: Your Celebrant will liaise with your vendors prior to the ceremony to ensure everything is as it should be. They will offer help and assistance where needed.

  • Time: A simple 15 - 45 minute ceremony (depending on the number of elements/inclusions you choose) Unless you request it via adding lots of elements in, we will never go over 45 minutes long. In fact a normal ceremony that we officiate is typically 30 minutes max from start (pre-processional) to end (recessional)

  • Entertaining: We like a joke and love to engage and entertain your guests, however we know where the line is and won’t cross that.

  • Pack Up/Check In: Your Celebrant won’t just pack up immediately, they will hang around for the afterparty and play music (through our sound system) if needed. We will make sure we come and say good bye before we leave.

hey, we’re jamie and kasey

We have been on a unique journey together since we met in high school back in the early 2000’s. We skipped the long dating stage while we both travelled the world creating individual memories.

Then, after 1000’s of km’s of worldwide adventures, we FINALLY got together in 2012!

We got engaged in 2013….. You can check out our adventure filled engagement video HERE.

We’ve been happily married since 2014 and genuinely proud parents of three boys since 2015.

We are huge Marriage Fans, which is why we began Laneway in 2016 to spread the awesome stories about how great being married really is. We hope to inspire couples by partnering with you to kick start your marriage journey in best way possible……. starting with your wedding day!
